How will The Boys actually stop President Homelander in the finale?

Trending discussion··4 comments

So we're apparently heading into the endgame with Homelander actually taking the presidency. It's wild to think about how the show has escalated from corporate corruption to full authoritarian takeover. The guy has basically unlimited power now—super strength, heat vision, and now the entire government apparatus backing him.

This raises some interesting questions though. The Boys' entire strategy up until now has been exposure, leverage, and exploitation of existing systems. But what happens when one person *is* the system? How do you fight someone with presidential authority, a massive military, and literal god-like abilities?

There's got to be some kind of creative solution coming, right? Maybe something involving Soldier Boy's involvement again, or some vulnerability we haven't discovered yet. Or perhaps the finale goes darker and shows the actual cost of stopping someone this powerful—assuming they even can.

What are your theories on how this wraps up? Do you think there's any realistic way the team wins, or is the show heading toward a more ambiguous or tragic ending? And honestly, how much more can the story escalate beyond a supervillain president?

The only way this ends is if Homelander self-destructs somehow. You can't beat someone with that much power through conventional means.

Anyone else think Soldier Boy has to play a bigger role? He's one of the few people who can actually match Homelander physically.

I'm wondering if the show takes a psychological angle instead of physical. Homelander's mental state has always been fragile—maybe that's the real weakness?

What if there's no clean victory? This show has never been about happy endings. The finale might be about survival and compromise rather than actually winning.
