What are you hoping to see in the upcoming Star Fox presentation?

Trending discussion··4 comments

Nintendo's confirmed a dedicated Star Fox showcase coming this May, and honestly, it's exciting to see the franchise get some spotlight. The presentation will be brief—just 15 minutes—so you know they're planning to pack it with announcements rather than padding it out.

This is a great opportunity to speculate: are we looking at a brand new game, or could this be about something else entirely? Star Fox has had such varied incarnations over the years, from rail shooters to motion control experiments. The franchise has real potential, but it's been quiet for a while.

What would make you genuinely interested in whatever they're announcing? Are you hoping for a return to the classic arcade-style gameplay, or would you prefer something that experiments with the formula? And with such a tight 15-minute window, what's the likelihood they're showing extended gameplay versus just a teaser and some details?

Let's use this thread to share what we'd like to see and make some predictions. The timing is interesting too—May 2026 is still a few months away, which gives us plenty of time to build anticipation.

15 minutes feels short for major news. Makes me think it's either a quick announcement plus release date, or they're saving the big details for later. What's everyone's bet?

I just want them to acknowledge the franchise exists and that Nintendo hasn't forgotten about it. A solid new game in the classic style would be amazing.

Could be interesting if they do something totally different. Not every Star Fox game needs to be the same formula. Innovation is what made the series fun in the first place.

Does anyone think this could be related to the broader Nintendo lineup refresh, or is this genuinely just a Star Fox focus? Curious about the strategy here.
